About The Role

Carriages is a unique award-winning destination restaurant nestled on the outskirts of Hereford providing a fine dining experience to all our guests. We now have an incredible opportunity for a Front of House Waiter/Waitress to join the team.  You will play a crucial role in providing a exceptional fine dining experience to our guests.  You will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring impeccable service, and attending to the needs of your patrons.  Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills and dedication to delivering a memorable dining experience will contribute to the overall success of Carriages.

This is a part-time position covering 20 hours on a Thursday, Friday & Saturday with flexibility.

As Front of House Waiter/Waitress, you will be:

  • Assisting guests in making menu selections by offering recommendations and answering questions, accurately recording orders/special requests ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to presentation standards.  Monitor tables to anticipate and fulfil guests needs, including refilling water glasses, providing extra utensils, etc. 
  • Keep dining areas clean, organised and aesthetically pleasing at all times, clear and reset tables.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and other service staff to ensure smooth flow or orders.
  • Preparing alcoholic/non alcoholic beverages, mixers and garnishes. 
  • Payment processing, presenting bills to guests in a polite and professional manner, adhering to procedures.
  • Adhere to food safety, sanitation and health regulations at all times.
  • Maintain professional grooming standards.

About You

What skills and experience are you looking for
 
The ideal candidate will have/be:
 
  • Prior experience in a fine dining restaurant or upscale hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Proven effective communication skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Proven knowledge of food and beverage offerings, particularly wines preferred, although training can be provided.
  • Proven experience of attention to detail and a commitment to providing impeccable service.
  • Previous knowledge of measurements and proportions for mixing drinks, preferrable.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team oriented environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
