About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join the allpay team.

allpay Limited is a fast-growing fintech company, based in Hereford, who specialise in payment and financial services. You will be working in an exciting, dynamic team, in a highly productive and engaging role, supporting and delivering agile and leading-edge cloud solutions within the Azure platform.

About the Role

Working in the IT Operations Department, you'll gain experience supporting everyday technology needs while gradually building your understanding of cloud infrastructure. As Azure continues to evolve, we aim to keep pace by offering access to relevant training and encouraging knowledge sharing across teams. You'll work with your manager on development plan to help guide your learning and growth.

This is an ideal opportunity to develop your skills in a team that's actively working with Azure services on client-facing production systems. You'll work in an Agile environment using Azure DevOps to support releases across Development, Staging and Production environments for critical financial applications.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Contributing to the company's 'Cloud First' strategy with guidance from senior engineers
  •  Learning and applying IT operations best practices alongside experienced mentors
  • Collaborating with technology teams to resolve incidents and support systems
  • Participating in deployments and change management processes
  • Supporting both on-premises and cloud infrastructure solutions

 

About You

What We're Looking For

You don't need to tick every box – we're looking for potential and enthusiasm as much as existing skills. If you're excited about cloud technology and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply.

You should have some experience with:

  • Windows Server or similar systems administration
  • Networking fundamentals (such as IP addressing or DNS)
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting technical issues

Useful skills we can help you develop:

  •  Microsoft Azure services (IaaS/PaaS)
  • Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, Proxmox, or similar)
  • Security best practices and compliance standards (PCI-DSS, Cyber Essentials)
  • Scripting and automation (PowerShell or similar)
  • Containerization concepts (Docker) and orchestration
  • Version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps)
  • Database technologies (SQL, MySQL, or NoSQL)
  • Infrastructure documentation and change management
