Project Manager – Banking (Financial Services Team)

As part of our business expansion, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a background of driving and delivering banking project streams.

Within this role you will need to have an excellent understanding of the banking landscape, regulatory frameworks and be able to adapt this knowledge to working in a small team and owner led organisation.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead and manage the core banking projects: take ownership of end-to-end project management, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Stakeholder Engagement: work closely with cross-functional internal teams, including product development, compliance, marketing, sales and key external partners, to align project goals and drive collaborative success.
• Risk Management: identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the smooth delivery of projects, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Resource Allocation: oversee resource planning, ensuring that the right talent and tools are in place to achieve project milestones.
• Reporting and Documentation: maintain and share clear and accurate project documentation that is meaningful to the audience. Provide regular updates to Project Sponsors, the Board and the Senior Leadership team on project status, risks, and opportunities.

• Proven Project Management experience in the financial services sector, particularly within banks or financial services institutions.
• Product Launch Experience: demonstrated success in managing complex projects that involve bringing financial or banking products to market.
• Strong Leadership: ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of different financial business models.
• Regulatory Knowledge: familiarity with the regulatory landscape of the UK financial services and banking sector.
• Exceptional Communication: strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, with teams inside of allpay and with external partners.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: ability to anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on track.
• Have a high-level understanding of technical requirements with the ability to translate these to non-technical teams.
• Relevant qualifications in project management or related fields.
