About The Role

We are looking for a Retail Farm Shop Assistant Manager to join the team and be part of our new exciting attraction on the outskirts of Hereford, situated within two vintage trains, this is the opportunity to work within a truly unique environment.
 
As our Retail Assistant Manager for the farm shop at The Sidings you will be able to lead from the front, ensuring excellent customer experience is shared by all.
 
Who are we looking for:

  • You will be a fantastic ambassador for everything 'Herefordshire'
  • Have the ability to engage with our customers, welcoming them, and advertising our great range of local produce.
  • Be able to talk confidently about seasons, varieties and flavours, maintaining a high level of product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
  • Assist the Farm Shop Manager in daily operations, including opening and closing procedures and covering their role in their absence.
  • Ensure the farm shop is clean, well-organised, and visually appealing.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels.
  • Handle cash and manage transactions, ensuring accuracy and security.

About You

Main responsibilities for the role of Retail Farm Shop Assistant Manager:
 
  • Previous retail experience in a farm shop or similar environment is preferred.
  • Business Administration, Retail Management or related field is preferred.
  • Effective proven communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous knowledge of retail operations and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Point of Sales (POS) systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and undertake lifting.
  • The role involves working in a retail environment with frequent interactions with customers and staff.
  • It may require working under pressure during peak times and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
