About The Role

allpay is the leading provider of payment solutions to housing associations, local authorities, and central government in the UK. We work with 90% of the top 250 Housing Association's, 70% of all Housing Association's, 50% of all UK Local Authorities and provide solutions for the NHS, The Scottish Government and the Ministry of Justice.

We’re now looking for a great Senior Product Manager to lead our company’s vision and mission to build financially inclusive digital banking products that impact the lives of millions. Building on our healthy payments solutions you will lead the development of innovative digital banking solutions and on a compelling presence in banking deposit, savings and lending products.

The Role

Product is at the heart of our ambition. As a Senior Product Manager (Banking), you will have a keen eye for detail and understand that even the smallest product choices can have a huge impact on customer behaviour and adoption. You’ll lead a project working with multi-disciplined team to set ambitious goals for our banking product area and have the freedom to decide how to meet them. Operating with a large degree of autonomy, you will shape the product, proposition, and commercial management of our banking products in response to strategic and regulatory drivers while ensuring that we meet the changing needs of our customers. You will make a massive impact on our customers’ lives and allpay’s success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and deliver innovative and leading product propositions and strategy, in the evolving digital banking landscape, for the next phase of our banking products.
  • Build a deep understanding of customer needs and market opportunities, and how we’ll continue to differentiate ourselves and grow while continuously understanding and monitoring the regulatory landscape, external markets and competitors.
  • Lead on increasing customer engagement with our existing users, alongside defining how we continue to evolve to meet new customer needs.
  • Lead on developing and delivering a customer engagement strategy for existing allpay clients, including increasing engagement and monetisation. Key success metrics include total users, monthly engagement and volume of funds deposited / held.
  • Work methodically, collaboratively and constructively with stakeholders across the business including design, engineering, research, data science and compliance, to refine your plan and execute against it effectively to achieve strategic goals.
  • Balance working towards long-term growth while achieving short-term objectives and revenue targets.
  • Help to shape the broader product strategy by sharing insights from your work.

About You

Your Experience


  • Operational knowledge of the technical functionality behind Payments products, such as provisioning, money management features, and digital wallets.
  • You are adept at partnership management and managing relationships with external parties.
  • Well-developed internal and external communication, collaboration and influencing skills which you've previously used to develop key relationships, deliver ideas and proposals, clearly and persuasively, to a wide range of audiences in a structured way and to gain agreement and buy-in to projects and initiatives.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail, you can demonstrate how you've used these skills in a commercial environment, and you're familiar with working to tight timescales whilst managing risks and adhering to compliance/regulatory requirements.
  • You’ve got extensive experience of shipping customer-centric digital products where product success has required strong customer engagement.
  • You’re passionate about designing and building great products to maximise value for customers and not just achieving business results.
  • You’re data driven, passionate about metrics, intellectually honest about how your work is performing, and are driven to continuously improve it.
  • You’re creative, resourceful and adaptable, and love working as part of a fast, iterative team, with a track record of maintaining good working relations with other team members to get stuff done, while using initiative when it comes to making decisions.
  • You’re a fast learner, humble and curious, and enjoy developing yourself and others, thoughtfully and constructively challenging and influencing the people you work with.

Attractive Bonus Skills:

  • You have a strong background in banking and finance products, specifically including deposit, payment and lending products.
  • You have a robust knowledge of mobile app development and end-to-end product management.
