About The Role

We are now looking for an In-house Legal Executive/Solicitor to join our Legal and Compliance Teams. The role is based in our Hereford Head Office.

You will join a friendly, professional, and dedicated team, who pride themselves on delivering expert advice and the highest standards of customer service.

The Legal Team is responsible for management of all legal and contractual relationships with clients and suppliers. The Legal Team operates as an effective guardian for the business, anticipating legal changes that affect the business, enabling it to operate safely and efficiently. 

Reporting to Director of Compliance and Regulation, you will provide day to day support and assistance to all stakeholders across the business and provide appropriate legal advice as required on various legal issues, ranging from Contract and Commercial Law issues, Employment, to the broader corporate matters.

As an In-house Legal Executive/Solicitor, you will manage your own day to day workflow and produce regular updates on the status of your tasks. You will be assisting with company-wide compliance to all legal, regulatory, and operating standards requirements.

Some of your other key responsibilities will include:

  • To draft, update and review contracts and other legal documentation including legal policies, standard terms, agreements, and templates.
  • Monitoring and managing the department’s legal workflow activity, prioritising work in accordance with level of importance and available resource.

  • Coordinating and executing a broad range of GDPR matters, including contract reviews, client liaison and policy updates.

  • Attending internal stakeholder meetings and where required external third-party meetings.

  • Instructing external legal advisers on complex or specialist matters.

  • Undertaking legal research on various points of law using legal databases and other resources, reviewing relevant statute and case law, and providing information and reports when required.

  • Creating and contributing to the legal department’s board submission.

  • Assisting the tender process and providing legal advice regarding the bid submission.

  • Advising on other areas of law such as employment and regulatory law, including assisting with internal investigations, disciplinary and grievances where required.

About You

As our ideal In-house Legal Executive/Solicitor, you will be a qualified Solicitor/Chartered Legal Executive with evidenced background in working with commercial contracts.

You will have 3+ PQE in handling matters in areas including but not limited to contract, commercial and intellectual property. Experience in dealing with employment and data protection matters is desirable, but not essential.

You will have a solid track record of providing proactive, expert, timely and authoritative legal advice.

You will have strong commercial understanding and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You will be able to build relationships and influence colleagues and external contacts at all levels, including senior colleagues and board members.
